Summary

Smoke No Fire is a story of a rock ‘n’ roller who almost achieves stardom. Throughout his musical career, Johnny Livewire gets close to the fire. It is the story of the women in Johnny’s life who get close to his heat to ignite their own flame. Smoke No Fire spans forty years, from his first cigarette to mind-altering drugs; his first sparks of stardom in blues rock to New York’s emerging punk scene. Johnny Livewire was a street poet, blues shouter, music promoter, heavy metal patron, union bard, and finally, when he thought it was over, a guest appearance with a famous band.
